Trying to figure out what extra content you’ll get based on your purchase can be a bit of a nightmare.  Don’t worry, we’re here to help!  We’ve sifted through all the jargon and condensed everything into a very simple breakdown.  Consider this your go-to guide for pre-ordering the right version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for you.

Standard Physical Edition

If you’re looking to purchase the standard physical edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, or Xbox Series X, there’s no need to rush on a pre-order.  Unfortunately, Activision isn’t offering any pre-order bonuses for these versions.  All you’ll get for your pre-order is a copy of the game when it launches.

PS4 and Xbox One versions are priced at $60, while the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions are $70.

Digital Standard Edition and Digital Cross-Gen Bundle

Those looking to go with a digital purchase will certainly benefit from locking in a pre-order.  If you choose either the Digital Standard Edition on PS4, Xbox One, or PC, or the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle for PS4 +PS5 and Xbox One + Xbox Series X, you’ll get early access to the multiplayer open beta.  This beta hasn’t been given an official start date yet, but leaked insider info points to an October 8th, 2020 launch.

A pre-order for the Digital Standard Edition and Digital Cross-Gen Bundle will also come with the Woods Operator Pack, which includes a Sergeant Frank Woods Operator Skin, M4 Weapon Blueprint, Voice Quip, and Finishing Move.  These items will be available to use immediately in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.

PS4 and Xbox One versions of the Digital Standard Edition are priced at $60.  The Digital Cross-Gen Bundle for PS4 + PS5 and Xbox One + Xbox Series X will cost $70.

Digital Ultimate Edition

If you’re really looking to go all-out on your purchase, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ‘Digital Ultimate Edition’ is your best option.  This package comes with more content than any other version, and some of it definitely sweetens the pot.

First off, the Digital Ultimate Edition comes with the same early access to the multiplayer beta and Woods Operator Pack as the Digital Standard Edition and Digital Cross-Gen Bundle.

Along with those goodies, you’ll also get the following content.

  • One Season of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Battle Pass Bundle, including 20 Tier Skips
  • The Land/Sea/Air Pack for use in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • Three Operator Skins
  • Three Weapon Blueprints
  • Three Vehicle Skins

There’s another way to snag even more bonus goodies with your Digital Ultimate Edition pre-order.  If you make your purchase through the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and/or Call of Duty: Warzone in-game store, you’ll also get 10 instant reward Modern Warfare and Warzone Tier Skips.  These will work with the current Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Battle Pass Season.

PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC versions are all priced the same at $90.
