Diablo 3 Season 26: Start Date, Release Time, Seasonal Theme, and More

April 16, 2022

When does Diablo 3 Season 26 End? The latest season of Diablo 3 is now live, but for those who wants to know the end date, here you go. Blizzard has yet to confirm when Season 26 ends, but if we assume it lasts the standard 12-17 weeks, we believe Season 26 should end sometime around July 8.

The Diablo 3 Season 26 Release Date is fast approaching. Though an end date for Diablo 3 Season 25 has not yet been announced, the latest Diablo 3 update has been released on the game’s PTR. Season 26 Patch 2.7.3 is still going through testing, but we already have a good idea of some of the major changes coming in Season 26.

On this page, you’ll find all the important details about the next Diablo 3 season in one place. We’ll also use this space to countdown until the Season 26 start time, with all the latest news as we get it. For now, read on for everything you need to know about Diablo 3 Season 26.

When Does Diablo 3 Season 26 Start?

UPDATE - Blizzard has confirmed Season 26 will begin on April 15, at 5PM (PDT/CEST/KST).

At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for Diablo 3 Season 26. However, based on what we know about the way Diablo 3 operates, it’s not too hard to work out when Diablo 3 Season 26 will start.

That’s because Diablo 3 seasons typically follow a pretty rigid formula. For starters, each Diablo 3 Season lasts 12 weeks as a bare minimum. That being said, more recently Seasons have lasted a lot longer. Both Season 23 and 22 ran for 18 and 15 weeks, whilst Season 24 lasted 19 weeks. Blizzard will also routinely end every season on a Sunday, with new seasons always starting on a Friday. Given the developers rarely deviate from this pattern we should be able to give a decent estimate on when Season 26 starts.

Now comes the math. Season 25 started on December 10 and if we assume it was to last 17 weeks, it would end on 10 April 2022 (a Sunday). This would mean Diablo 3 Season 26 would start on 15 April 2022 (a Friday). Of course, it’s possible that the season could last longer, so we may even see Season 26 start at some point in May if the developers really want to stretch it out.

What time will Diablo 3 Season 26 Start?

Reminder - Season 26 will begin on April 15, at 5PM (PDT/CEST/KST)

Although we’re still a little hazy on the day Season 26 will start, every new Diablo 3 season always starts at the same times around the world. Players should expect Season 26 to start at 5pm PDT in North America, 5pm CEST in Europe, and 5pm KST in Asia.

It’s also worth noting that typically the launch times will vary depending on if you’re playing on PC or Console. Diablo 3 console gamers might have to wait a little longer, with Season 26 possibly launching at 1am GMT the following day.

Diablo 3 Season 26 Season Theme

For the sake of anyone who doesn’t know, Diablo 3 has a new season theme with event new season. Sometimes these are more permanent, like the follower revamp in Season 23. On other occasions, these changes only last for one season, such as Ethereal Weapons in Season 24, and the Soul Shards in Season 25.

With the launch of Diablo 3 Season 26, Blizzard is introducing a brand new activity called ‘Echoing Nightmare’. This is an optional bit of end-game content where players “fight within the memories of Nephalem who fell in a Greater Rift… until they are inevitably Overwhelmed or defeated”.

Blizzard has also confirmed that the difficulty scales as players progress in the Echoing Nightmare encounter. To us, this sounds a bit like a Diablo 3 take on a horde mode. Here’s a bit more info from the Blizzard team:

Players will need to acquire a Petrified Scream from defeating a Greater Rift Guardian and then transmute it in Kanai’s Cube to gain access to the nightmare. Rewards for the new activity include legendary items, blood shards, gems, and a new legendary gem, Whisper of Atonement, which is used exclusively for augmenting Ancient Legendary items.

Now onto the best bit, what are the rewards? Players can receive the following upon completing an Echoing Nightmare: EXP, Legendary Items, Blood Shards, Gems, and a new Legendary Gem, Whisper of Atonement.

The last of those, ‘The Whisper of Atonement’ is a new Legendary Gem used exclusively for Augmenting Ancient Legendary items.

What Are The Diablo 3 Season 26 Class Sets

At the start of every season, players are given a new selection of class sets as potential rewards. As always, any players who complete chapters from the Season Journey will be rewarded with three sets as part of Haedrigs Gift.

Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 26:

  • Barbarian – The Legacy of Raekor

Diablo 3 Season 26 Seasonal Cosmetic Rewards

Beginning with Season 17, Blizzard started reintroducing previous seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. In Season 25, this meant players were once again able to earn the rewards from Season 13.

In addition, because Blizzard wants to make sure seasoned players have something new to earn, they’re also providing new End of Journey rewards with two new cosmetic item for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey.  For instance, in Season 25 players could earn the Pane of Tristram Portrait and The Dark Lordling Pet.

With Season 26 rewards originally available from Season 14 are returning. In addition, players can earn the Rakkis’ Remembrance portrait and the Toothsome Trooper pet.
