Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: When Is Downtime and How Long Will It Last?

Fortnite has been undergoing one of its best periods in recent memory, as with the new map releasing, theres a ton of content for players to check out.

Once again within the new season, anticipation is at an all-time high, and we’re going to have to undergo some downtime before we dive into Chapter 5 Season 2.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: When Is Downtime and How Long Will It Last?

Update – 9:20 am EST

Epic has noted that downtime is going to need an additional eight hours, meaning the earliest players will be able to log on is around 5:30 pm EST.

Downtime is an essential part of the game, as this is when Epic allocates their resources to the game, and implements all the new patch content for us to check out.

Typically, during a brand new Chapter, Epic will roll out downtime at the end of the event for a few hours, but we’ve seen in the past that this can last a few days.

Chapter 5 Season 2 downtime should begin at around 3:00 am EST, as this is when Epic has deployed downtime in previous season releases. In regards to how long it’ll last, we can assume it will take at least 2-4 hours until the severs are back up and running and players can queue into matches.
