GTA Online Prize Ride Challenge This Week (September 29)

The GTA Online Prize Ride was introduced during the game’s Los Santos Tuners update along with loads more content which brought to life the Los Santos underground tuner scene. The cornerstone of the update was Rockstar’s brand new social space called the LS Car Meet, a place for players to get together and show off their customised personal vehicles, test new cars with friends on a private track, and much more. Smack bang in the middle of the LS Car Meet, sitting on the back of the Slamtruck, you should also find the weekly Prize Ride vehicle, which players can win by completing a Prize Ride challenge every week.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Prize Ride Challenge in GTA Online.

What is the GTA prize ride challenge this week?

From September 29 to October 6 – The Prize Ride Challenge this week is “Place top 2 in a Street Race Series race for 3 days in a row” and if you’re successful you’ll win the Prize Ride car from the LS Car Meet Slamtruck.

This week players can win the Pegaasi Infernus Classic as the prize ride, worth $915,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos. If you want a bit more info about the car, here’s the in-game description:

Experience tells you that anything this hot must be crazy, and you’re not wrong. The Infernus Classic is the kind of car that’ll dazzle you with its perfect cheekbones, empty your bank account, and once you’re sleeping in the wet patch it’ll finish you off with a rusty machete. What’s not to love?

How to get the prize ride in GTA Online?

As you’ll have noticed above, players are required to complete a  racing challenge based on the new races added with the LS Car Meet, all of which can be seen below:

  • Head-to-Head – a one-on-one ‘short format race’
  • Scramble – up to four players race to collect 20 checkpoints
  • Time Trials
  • Street Race Series
  • Pursuit Series – a more open race, where you can take multiple different routes
  • Sprint – a point to point challenge against up to three others

The Prize Ride challenge may take several days to complete, with some challenges requiring you to finish in a certain position 3 days in a row, or sometimes 5 days in a row. Do note, the games built-in daily timer for consecutive daily challenges will reset globally at 00:00 UTC. It’s worth remembering that so you don’t accidentally skip a day.

Before you can do any of this though, you’ll need to make sure you have an LS Car Meet Membership, which costs $50,000 upfront.

Once you’ve joined the LS Car Meet you should be able to select the “Prize Ride Challenge” from your interaction menu to see the weekly challenge. Then you just need to select the correct race from the menu and start putting the pedal to the metal.

How To Claim The Prize Ride Car?

When you complete the weekly prize ride challenge you should receive a message from Mimi which reads:

Hey, real buzz down here at the meet after what you pulled. lot of members got that kinda record in their sights, but you went and did it. won yourself that prize ride from LS Customs. enjoy. itll be waiting for you at the meet. keep killing it on that track babe. mimi

Now make sure you’ve left space in your garage for when you want to claim the new car. If you’ve got space in your garage you the Prize Ride can be claimed via the Interaction Menu when inside the LS Car Meet.

The vehicle will be immediately delivered to your chosen property garage, but you must make sure to claim your prize ride before the next GTA Online Weekly Update when everything resets. Any cars not claimed before the reset will be lost.

Can you sell the Prize Ride car in GTA Online?

There’s no point really. Just like any prize vehicles you win from the Diamond Casino on the Lucky Wheel, Prize Ride cars have no base value. You can only sell it if you’ve spent money on it, but even then you only get 50% of the cost of any customisation you’ve applied. In the event you already own the prize ride car, you could however sell the one you already own.
