With more and more players eager to enlist in the fight for democracy, there could be a new threat on the way.

Helldivers 2: When Are The Illuminate Coming?
Helldivers 2 features a ton of destruction within the game, and whether you’re calling down an orbital strike to enemies, or using one of the new weapons you unlocked, something is always being shot at.
Now, Arrowhead Studios has announced that players have fully eradicated the Automatons, meaning there is victory for Super Earth for the time being.
This means that the galaxy is at peace for now, but the Illuminate, one of the factions from Helldivers 1 has been in the back of players minds since the game was released. We suspect that with the Automatons gone, they could fill the void, and players will start to see their ships pop up more and more over the coming days.
Be sure to be on the lookout as the Illuminate are going to be a force brand new to players and one that will need some extra firepower dealing with.
