Marvel Rivals takes a ton of aspects we see from other hero shooters, and infuses them within the Marvel universe to make a lovely game for players to check out.
One of the more unique features is the team up abilities, which gives some benefits for using specific characters on the same team.
Here's all of the team up's within Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals: All Team Up Abilities and What They Do
Marvel Rivals does offer players some familiarity with some of the in-game mechanics, such as certain movesets and what not. However, these team up abilities are unique in the sense that they incentivize team play more then anything.
Most of these make sense lore wise, and it's awesome to see new ones being added with each new character coming.
- Loki and Hela - Ragnarok Rebirth
- When Hela lands a final hit in defeating an enemy, she can instantly resurrect Loki in the respawn phase.
- Scarlet Witch and Magneto - Metallic Chaos
- Scarlet Witch can infuse Chaos Energy into Magneto to enchant his greatsword. Upon receiving the Chaos Energy, Magneto can unleash its full force, striking down enemies with his enchanted greatsword.
- Venom, Spider-Man and Peni-Parker - Symbiote Bond
- Venom shares a part of his symbiotes with Spider-Man and Peni Parker, activating their symbiote abilities. Spider-Man and Peni Parker can convert the symbitoes into explosive spikes that inflict harm on nearby enemies and relentlessly drive them back
- Black Panther and Magik - Limbo Shortcut
- Magik opens a portal that Black Panther can use to teleport to other locations on the map
- Ammo Overload - The Punisher and Rocket Racoon
- Rocket Raccoon throws an Ammo Overload Device in the target direction. Upon entering the device’s range, The Punisher receives the buffs of Infinite Ammo and Faster Firing
- Planet X Pals - Groot and Rocket Racoon
- Rocket Raccoon can ride on Groot’s shoulders, receiving damage reduction
- Iron Man, Hulk and Doctor Strange - Gamma Charge
- Hulk charges Doctor Strange and Iron Man with gamma radiation. When Doctor Strange uses Maelstrom of Madness, he unleashes excess gamma energy. When Iron Man uses Armor Overdrive, he will initiate a gamma upgrade
- Chilling Charisma - Luna Snow and Namor
- Luna Snow infuses ice energy into Namor, who then can tap into the ice energy to power up abilities at will
- Adam Warlock, Star Lord and Mantis - Guardian Revival
- Adam Warlock enhances the rebirth power of Star Lord and Mantis, granting them his cocooned revival
-
Voltaic Union – Thor + Storm/Captain America:
Storm and Captain America gain access to Thor’s Thorforce, granting them electrical augmentations. When enhanced, Storm can create a storm barrage, while Cap’s shield becomes imbued with thunderpower. He also gets a speed boost. -
Atlas Bond – Iron Fist + Luna Snow:
Iron Fist imbues Luna Snow with Chi, granting her a new ability. When activated, she creates a powerful blast around her that pushes back enemies with damage and applies a slowing effect, while also healing her allies. This is great to create space after getting dived on by a pesky Duelist. -
ESU Alumnus – Spider-Man + Squirrel Girl:
Spider-Man grants Squirrel Girl a new web bomb ability that does what you’d expect. She launches the bomb, and when it hits a player or the environment, it explodes, webbing up anyone caught in its blast radius. -
Lunar Force – Cloak & Dagger + Moon Knight:
When paired with Cloak & Dagger, Moon Knight gets access to a new ability. When activated, it creates a dome around Moon Knight for 6 seconds. When inside the dome, Moon Knight is invisible. -
Allied Agents – Hawkeye + Black Widow:
When Black Widow is paired up on the battlefield with her best friend Hawkeye, she gets a new ability, giving her access to his Hunter’s Sight. This allows her to shoot still afterimages of enemies, making for easier shots. She, however, can not get critical headshots in this mode – thankfully. -
Fastball Special – Hulk + Wolverine:
When both Hulk and Wolverine are on the same team, Logan can crawl into the arms of Hulk who then catapults him into the enemies to cause havoc. Don’t worry - both Hulk and Wolverine have to agree to the interaction. If you’re playing Wolverine, you don’t have to worry about getting trolled by your Hulk and hurled into your enemies without agreeing to it first.
