Warzone Resurgence Maps Will Be Removed In November, It’s Claimed

Well-known Call of Duty insider TheGhostofHope has revealed that the Warzone Resurgence maps will be removed from Warzone when Activision releases Warzone 2.0 later this year.

Currently, there are two ‘Resurgence’ maps available in Warzone, which includes Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.

Both of these maps are substantially smaller in size compared to the traditional Battle Royale maps, but are still enjoyed heavily by the community. Given the popularity of these two maps, the news is unlikely to go down well with fans and we imagine could be announced at a convenient point when everyone is too obsessed with Warzone 2.0 to notice or care.

Earlier this month Tom Henderson – another well-known industry-insider – also reported that the original Warzone game will likely be renamed “Warzone Caldera” following Warzone 2.0’s release.

Whilst less of a big deal to fans, this is likely going to happen as Activision looks to avoid any confusion amongst players and digital storefronts. It might also explain why the Resurgence maps are being removed. Not least if Activision plans to add them into Warzone 2.0 at a later date.

Writing on Insider-Gaming.com, Henderson today reported that sources close to the game have indicated that the original Warzone will continue to receive some form of support after Warzone 2.0’s release, however, precise details on what this will look like are still thin on the ground.

Henderson also indicated that sources have told him Activision are already working on a second Warzone 2.0 map.

For now though, fans will be eager to get their hands on the new Al Mazrah map when Warzone 2.0 launches on 16th November 2022.
